Description
The Moses Cone estate was established at the turn of the 20th century. Today, the park is one of the most visited on the Blue Ridge Parkway. These 3500 acres are home to 25 miles of carriage trails, Bass Lake & Trout Lake, the Cone Cemetary, and Flat Top Manor. The Manor houses the Parkway Craft Center, featuring work by the Southern Highlands Craft Guild. Upstairs tours of the 20-room mansion are conducted on weekends throughout the summer and fall, and crafters can be found on the front porch demonstrating their skills in the summer months. The carriage trails are well maintained and multipurpose; along the way you may meet horseback riders, joggers, or in the winter, cross-country skiiers. The house and craft center are open daily from April or May through November
